A second update to Windows 10 fixed it. The following info is the steps I used to install a working network driver; 1 open Device Manager 2 right-click Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller 3 select “Update Driver Software” 4 select “Browse my computer for driver software” 5 select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” 6 From this list begin the process of elimination until you find a driver that works. So far I’ve had no problems and Windows update has not changed the driver. Thanks for marking this as the answer. Method 1 – tried, albeit accessing the Device Manager via a different route. Paul Replied on November 13, For the purpose of this specific bdoadcomm, I intentionally run Windows update on a daily basis and so far there has been no changes to the driver for this component. Broadcom chips used – tried latest driver – still doesn’t work.
I now have another problem in that the roll back corrupted all broadcokm entries. I have not experienced any problems using Edge, Google or Internet Explorer. The driver recommended by Dell Support did not work with Win10 nor did the latest driver provided on broadcom. I would very much welcome either a copy of this driver or a link to where it is still available for download.

With the amount of time it takes to upgrade bdoadcomm downgrade I will wait for a confirmed fix before trying again. Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers attempt to trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services.
