Correct I would not get it. Plus camorama is not a requirement for webcams. That’s a good thing that now the Quickcam Messenger is recognized meesenger of the box. My mic worked when I ran Dapper but I never really went after it to test on later versions. I also have this problem.
One more thing if you’re one of those people like me who had only camorama working with your quickcam messenger when no other program would work with your cam. A new script won’t be needed since it uses uname -r to open the modules folder of the latest kernel. Those commands don’t work either. I used synaptic to get the kernel headers, I don’t understand why this doesn’t work.
Also, when I restart it is no longer registered as a device. Because the software is closed source, no one can go in and really find out what the problem is. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. So can anyone recommend me a current webcam communivate, that works out of the box with kopete like this Logitech Quickcam Zoom?

I no longer need this as it works simply by plugging in the camera. I’m kinda stranded there cause I haven’t got the foggiest idea what that means and how to check if the webcam possibly doesn’t understand that request nor what request should be sent instead.
